Binatbatan Festival of the Arts
Viva Vigan 2nd year celebration of "Binatbatan Festival of the Arts: A tapestry of culture and arts woven by a miracle" is celebrated from the last week of April to the first week of May was originally the Feast of the Natives that began on May 3, 1883, according to the writings of Damaso King, a well-known Vigan historian.
The streets were closed, people flocked in certain locations. Drums are beating loud and clear. Colorful costumes are being worn by the street dancers as they proudly proclaim "Viva Vigan!" Binatbatan festival has emerged to be one of the largest cultural gatherings. This year the celebration of Binatbatan Festival is totally different as the entire world is in pandemic. Movements are restricted, gatherings are limited, even if this activity was expected to attract spectators, health protocols must still be observed. Amidst the pandemic, we still find ways to vent our emotions and look for the brighter side of it.
